PokerStars Rakeback vs Full Tilt Rakeback
Posted on September 13, 2009 by Harry G.
It is fair to compare the world’s two biggest poker rooms and what they actually offer players who sign up in terms of rakeback.
Not so simple
The comparison is not simple as PokerStars Rakeback is given to players through their FPP program and Full Tilt Rakeback is paid directly to players in cash.
The maximum Full Tilt rakeback available is 27% net which in most weeks for players account for 27% gross or even a bit more if a poker bonus is cleared. At the same time 27% is also the ultimate maximum for players no matter how much they play and rake which makes the offer a little less intriguing for high raking players although it also would be fair to account the many inexperienced players Full Tilt Poker bring in to the room as an indirect value for good rakeback players.
It is often underestimated how much value it is worth with tons of fish but a fact is that most really good poker players earn a lot more in poker winnings than they are paid out in rakeback.
PokerStars rakeback need to be examined in terms of player value through their FPP/VPP loyalty and reward system. With six different levels where the highest level Super Nova Elite earn points at an increased speed it can only be estimations about the true PokerStars rakeback value on the different levels.
However Supernova Elite players are seen to receive more than $100.000 dollars year which at any point in time beat the Full Tilt rakeback offer by lengths.
A fair estimate is seen in below table but Supernova Elite players often express they are getting a whopping 35%-55% value.
The PokerStars VIP program is in different tiers
VIP Level Rakeback
BronzeStar 5-8%
SilverStar 7.5-12%
GoldStar 10-16%
PlatinumStar 12.5-20%
Supernova 17.5-28%
SupernovaElite 25-32%
On top of the indirect value players get for their FPPs, PokerStars often host tournament qualifiers with added value and other great events. Being the leading poker room in the world also count a lot since PokerStars bring in even more inexperienced players to their poker room than Full Tilt poker does.
All in all both poker rooms give back a fair value to all players either directly through the Full Tilt rakeback program or indirect by the PokerStars rakeback equivalent loyalty program.
Number one and two in the world both know how to take care of players and all serious players need accounts on both poker rooms anyway.
